Dispute Policy

Last updated 14 October 2026

Step 1 — Talk it through (up to 5 days)

Most problems are misunderstandings. Use BriefIt messages to explain the issue and what would fix it. Keep everything in writing on BriefIt so there's a record.

Step 2 — Report it

If you can't agree, use the Report button on the brief, profile or message. Choose a reason and describe what happened, what was agreed, and what outcome you want.

Step 3 — BriefIt review (within 7 working days)

A moderator reviews the brief, the application, your messages and anything you've shared. We may ask both sides for more information.

Possible outcomes

  • Agreed revisions or a new delivery date.
  • A recommendation on partial or full payment based on what was delivered.
  • Closing the brief, removing reviews that break our rules, or suspending an account.

What we look at

  • The brief as posted, and the application's price and delivery.
  • Changes agreed in BriefIt messages.
  • Whether work was delivered as described and on time.

Limits

BriefIt does not currently hold payments, so we can't force a refund. Our decision is a fair recommendation; either side may still take the matter to the Small Claims Court or another legal process in Botswana.
